Harvey Lyman - Founder & Inspiration 1926 to 2002
Our business began in 1972 when Harvey Lyman opened Harvey Lyman & Sons, Inc. The first showroom was located at 1003 Capital Avenue in Hartford where Mr. Lyman specialized in cabinet front refacing. He developed the Company into Southern New England's largest kitchen cabinet front remodeler and we are also the region's oldest continuously operating kitchen business.
Now known as Lyman Kitchens, we own our building at 30R Bartholomew Avenue in Hartford. We have completed in excess of 4,000 kitchen projects.

Brian Lyman - General Manager and Professional Kitchen Designer
While attending high school, Mr. Lyman started his career in the wood products and furniture manufacturing industry. He organized and was the owner/operator of his first furniture manufacturing business while attending University of Hartford's Engineering School, Mr. Lyman
developed a startup furniture manufacturing, distribution and retail sales concern from inception to international sales of $9 million.
Mr. Lyman has been recognized by national trade publications for his company's growth and development of new wood products manufacturing techniques. Inc. Magazine and its co-sponsors, Merrill Lynch and Ernst & Young, nominated Mr. Lyman Entrepreneur of the Year for 1992 and 1994. The United States Department of Agriculture, Forestry Division, has Mr. Lyman speak at its seminars. His topics of discussion are plant automation and machinery selection for wood products processing.
In addition, Mr. Lyman's furniture designs have been honored internationally by Furniture Design, Furniture Today, and International Home Furniture Center publications. He designed, fabricated, and installed the dining room at the Vice President's official residence in the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.
In 1998, Mr. Lyman joined his father's business and has helped to build Lyman Kitchens into a full service home remodeler, able to offer clients a full array of design, fabrication, and installation services.
Mr. Lyman has varied interests and hobbies. An avid sportsman, he is a U.S. Coast Guard certified Captain and operates a sports fishing boat in New England and Florida waters. Other interests include golf, scuba diving, skiing and most outdoor activities.

Micky Lyman - Lyman Family Matriarch
The pleasant voice over the phone, the helping hand for researching product information, the bookkeeper, sales manager, whatever role needs to be filled, she has filled it. Mickey helped her brother Harvey with his business at its inception and continues to be actively involved.

Michele holds a degree in Architectural Design, with 17 years experience in residential kitchen design. Designing extremely functional custom kitchens that meet the needs and budgets of the end user. Specializing in the fast paced requirements of builders and their clients.

Kevin Murrihy - Professional Kitchen Designer
With a diverse background in customer service, housing software and a degree in Fine Arts, Kevin combines his experiences with his love of art and design. The son of a builder and remodeler, Kevin's training in renovation began at a young age and eventually led him to a career as a kitchen designer for one of the country's top home improvement companies. Kevin uses his artistic kitchen design approach to create a unique look for each client.

Jeff Landry - Project And Service Manager
Jeff started working in a small, high-end cabinet shop while enrolled in an architectural engineering program in Boston. After school, he decided to stay in the business. Over the last 20+ years, he has been involved in all aspects of home construction. His main focus has been high-end, challenging custom cabinet and millwork fabrication and installations.
Over the years, he's worked as a team leader with a large, high-end cabinet shop; run his own building/remodeling business and also was the hands on shop supervisor for a small shop in northern CT.
His position here at Lyman Kitchens is equally as challenging as anything he has done in the past. He says, "It's a great pleasure to use my background and experiences to assist the company's long-term growth."

The "customer experience" is something to which we give a lot of consideration here at Lyman Kitchens. Overseeing that department, Slate greets every visitor personally with a friendly "Woof!" and a wag of her tail.

Senior Project Managers
Our Senior Project Managers make your plans and dreams reality. They take over when the final designs are approved and the products are ordered.
A Senior Project Manager will be assigned to your kitchen. He will coordinate any necessary demolition and all aspects required for a successful installation. From planning schedules to solving problems to finishing touches, your Senior Project Manager will do everything possible to creat your perfect kitchen.
All of our Senior Project Managers have many years of experience in construction management with primarily residential projects, from new construction to extensive renovation and anything in between.
