Lyman Kitchens has long been known for quality cabinets, creative designs and excellent customer service. Our founder, Harvey Lyman, pledged to "Make you happy." We strive to present a kitchen of function, beauty and value while working with you to plan a room that suits your needs and fulfills your wishes.

In addition to multiple cabinet lines, we also provide a variety of counter top materials, appliances, wood and tile flooring products, sinks, faucets, and hardware. In each product category, items are offered for every budget, along with Lyman Kitchens competitive pricing promise! We are confident that you will find the look you want within your budget. Our team includes designers, installers and service personnel, all working towards the successful completion of your project.

How do you begin?

Visit our showroom at 30R Bartholomew Avenue in Hartford (directions). We are open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday 9 am to 4 pm.

During your showroom visit, a free, one hour consultation with a professional kitchen designer can be scheduled. This preliminary meeting will establish the scope of your project, its budget, and time frame.

After the consultation, if you wish to proceed to the design phase, we will make an appointment to come to your home. At the home appointment, we will start with an interview. Topics include: project scope, preliminary design ideas, product finishes, contractor responsibilities and project budget. We will perform a mini-home inspection and take detailed measurements of the area to be remodeled.

Next Steps

All this information will be brought back to our office where your designer will develop a conceptual preliminary design and floor plan. Subsequently, an appointment will then be scheduled for a Plan Review of the designs and proposal. Any minor revisions to the design or proposal can be made at this time.

Lyman Kitchens fee is $435 for it's Promotional Design Services. The design fee will be credited toward your purchase. The design concepts and plans are the property of Lyman Kitchens until they are certified for release and a purchase is made. Arrangements can also be made to purchase the plans separately.

If you are not yet ready to make a purchase, yet want to continue the design process, a retainer, 10% of the estimated cost of the project, is required. Further revisions of the chosen layout, detailed floor plans, job-site meetings, and estimates will help you visualize your new space and finalize your project. Perspective drawings will show you what the kitchen will look like. Retainers are credited towards your project.

Placing an Order

To place an order, we require a 50% deposit of the project cost, less any design fees previously paid, payable by personal check. At this time, you will receive a certified copy of the plans and a written proposal with the project's specifications and start and completion dates. Your materials will be delivered in approximately 5-9 weeks, depending on the scope of your project and the lead-time of your product selections.
